"Car Guy of the Year™" for 1997, Mr. Dick Guldstrand, accepts the official plaque for the award from a group of fellow members of the automotive community  who selected Mr. Guldstrand to receive the one-time annual award.

The surprise "Car Guy of the Year" award announcement for 1997 was made by Dick Guldstrand's pal Tim Allen and caught Dick off-guard, as he had been invited onto The Car Guy Show to talk about Corvette racing history.  As the show unfolded, we talked very little about Corvette racing history and a lot about Dick Guldstrand's stellar racing-world activities.

Dick is one of the world's premier "ambassadors" from the automotive world, and one of the most modest and gentlemanly "roll" model heroes in automotive motorsports.
